My name is Xander Grzywinski, and I’m a potter based in the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle, WA. I focus on functional pottery that I aim to embody the opposite of minimalism. I want my work to be maximalist and chaotic, while also comfortably serving its function.

I work with high fire porcelain, that I then spray and layer multiple glazes on before single firing. Spraying on many glazes in thin layers helps me capture the atmospheric wild effect that I’m looking for. A lot of my process and work is heavily influenced by artists I look up to including Steven Hill, Steven Showalter, Tom Coleman, Taylor Sijan, Dick Lehman, and Deb Schwartzkopf.
